Savings Plan for 2009

by ~kat on Jan.06, 2009, under money savings

Today I’m setting up my 2009 savings plan. It’s nothing major but it is something. We have our daily use checking account and then we have one this sits dormant in our old hometown. We do everything with it via ATM Machine. So with that we don’t use it often nor do we remember half the time it’s even there.

Today I’m filling out new ADP Direct Deposit slips and I’m going to use that secondary checking account for our savings account. I’m going to have 5% of my check and 5% of my hubby’s check deposited into this account each pay period.

Now with that my husband pays almost $400 a month in child support for his 18 year old daughter. She is now incarcerated in the local jail and is not attending full time school. Since she isn’t attending school we should be able to terminate child support effective December 15th. Retroactive yes~

Now if this does happen and the order is terminated I’m going to take 50% of that $400 a month and have that deposited into this same account and add the other 50% into our monthly budget.

That way we have some fallback funds.

2009 Excavating plans …

by ~kat on Jan.04, 2009, under just cause

Yes excavating, the word I’m using for my life. My father is an excavator / grater / cement mason … so I feel the word fits. He tore up land and rebuilt houses. Made new forms for foundations. So that’s what I’m going to do with my life.

Some personal goals for 2009 …

1. Weight loss the safe way!
2. Organize my personal space.
3. Become more “homey” with baking and cooking more regularly.
4. Spend more quality play time before my last two kids are adults.
5. Spend more quality play time w/hubby. (now now PG rated of course)
6. Work much harder to become more “frugal”.
7. Focus on getting out of debt.
8. Create a better family foundation. (holidays showed me we have lost some of our ways.)
9. Excavate each room in my home and redesign or finish what hasn’t been finished in 11 years.
10. Work on ME! It’s all about ME this year!

#wiimoms twitter party!

by ~kat on Jan.03, 2009, under wii

We’re almost there! Checkout Wii Fit Mommies twitter party here. First time I’ve been involved in a twitter party so I may just sit back and watch. Sounds like fun though!

I signed up for a few of the giveaways would be nice to win one but eh oh well if I don’t. Either way I have my mind set on working out daily on my Wii Fit. If I’m lucky I can start tomorrow. My hubby is going to stand at the doors of Walmart at 6am CST to try to snatch me up one. I’ve searched high and low locally and can’t seem to get my hands on one.

Cross your fingers … tomorrow is the day!

Can you run it?

by ~kat on Dec.30, 2008, under technology

Check out this site for any PC games you play to buy: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest.

It tells you if your machine is capable or not.

Wishing I had this PRIOR to buying bioshock, so now I have to upgrade my video card.

Any suggestions?
