Ok got my Wii, now what?
by ~kat on Nov.29, 2008, under family, grandchildren
Now I need to know exactly what I need to buy in addition to the Wii.
My father picked up Madden 09 for the boys and I picked up some spongebob squarepants game, only cause it was $16 and I had a $5 off coupon. Yeah a coupon for a Wii game! lol
I also have a $5 or $3 coupon for a Dora Wii game but I can’t seem to find it locally. Figured that would work for Jonathan since he’s in love with Dora and Diego.
What games would you recommend for a 12 and 11 year old? Bloody games don’t fly here, so recommend something better!
It’s going to be a grand xmas!
by ~kat on Nov.18, 2008, under grandchildren
It’s going to be an exciting christmas this year.
My grandchildren are now 3 years, 1 year and my precious newborn. It’s time for me to start some traditions.
I’m thinking of one thanks to FussyPants who posted about her Build-A-Bear Moose for her son. I just love the Moose it is so adorable. Then there is the Christmas Penguin, he’s darn cute too. And since I work with Yonni my 3 year old grandson on exotic animals and making sure he knows them like he knows regular farm animals, I think I may get him the Zebra.
Thanks FussyPants for the reminder about Build-A-Bear, being out here in the hicks I always forget what I’m missing in the city for shopping. Thank gosh for the net!
I see you Nana!

Its funny to me that Mommy has not seen my eyes but I just had to show my nana and papa I do have them. I do see you and I do know your voice!
Ok this is a terrible pic of me, please consider I’ve had hardly any sleep at this point.

Jonathan 3rd Birthday
by ~kat on Nov.09, 2008, under grandchildren
Jonathan’s 3rd birthday was yesterday. I got him his cake and couple of toys to open. Boys got him some hot wheel cars which he goes balistic for. Ignore his issue with his ear and his hat. Mama acting goofy with Jonathan just before taking a pic and didn’t fix it. LOL
Almost there… baby is coming
by ~kat on Nov.06, 2008, under grandchildren
It’s almost time! Daughter is in Green Bay now going to the OB ER as she has been having contractions since 2am and lost the “plug”. I’m waiting patiently for the call to head down. It’s about a 40 minute drive in good weather but tonight not so much! It’s downpouring rain out there and ofcourse I drive a rear wheel drive car. Nice eh? Go figure!
So cross your fingers it all goes smoothly and I will post pics when the babe arrives!
Little Gift from Nana!

Both of the boys quilts are completed. I got this grand idea to do this cause I’ve thought a lot about my mom lately. She’s been gone for 10 years now and between her and my grandmother we all received handsewn quilts and crotcheted afghans growing up. I just had to pass on the tradition. The afghans are still in process. It’s just one of those things my hands can’t quite do for very long.
I’m not the most fabulous seamstress that’s for sure, but I manage. Simple 12 inch squares sewn together and I cheated and used yarn at the 4 corners. Yes I know old school but it worked. I still have final touch of the handprints and dates of birth but I can’t do that till I go to my mother in laws.
I’m not going to jinx myself and sew the pink one for fear it’ll change and come out a boy. Know that’s not possible but also know not to trust an ultrasound either. So nana is holding on for hope that it’s a girl.
Oh yeah, and by the way, she’s dilated at 2cm so I may not have to wait all that long!
Minimizing my geek side

As many of you know I’m preparing to be a grandmother again. It’s a fabulous thing but this is the time I really miss my mom. See she was the sewing, painting, crafty kinda mom. When she passed away that side of me passed with her. I’ve not had much energy or ambition to do any of it. But with another grandchild, and they say this one is a girl, I feel the urge to well be creative for them.
This morning I sat here and cut I swear a billion 12 inch squares to make each of the grand babies a keepsake quilt. Sure it’s not all fancy but its from me and with lots of love. Jonathan is going to have blue and white checkerboard. Jackson will have lime green and white checkerboard. And if the ultrasound was correct … Kylie Theresa Rose will have pink and white checkerboard.
After the boys mom comes home I’m going to sneak off to my office, cover my windows and start sewing all these squares together. She hasn’t a clue what I’m doing and I want to keep it a surprise till she delivers so I can present her with the quilts.
I’m horrible at secrets so crossing fingers I can keep my big mouth shut!
Treat Nana!
by ~kat on Oct.13, 2008, under family, grandchildren
I love mornings when Jax goes down for a nap early and it’s just Yonni and me. Everything gets quiet and he plays nicely. Then there are those moments where he looks at Nana and says “Treat Nana” Awww just makes me smile. No idea why but I enjoy my moments with my little Yonni! He’s almost 3 and can be a handful. But it’s those moments I’d never give up!
Brotherly Love!
by ~kat on Jul.19, 2008, under grandchildren
I found this pic in my collection of grandbaby pictures and I’m going to get it enlarged and printed for my daughter. I think it just shows such Brotherly Love at a young age! Now hopefully they’ll hold onto that when they are 12 and 13 beating the hell out of each other!
