Down in dumps

by ~kat on Aug.07, 2007, under friends, health, pets

Ever get so down in the dumps that you can’t even stand to look at yourself in the mirror?

That’s exactly how I feel. I’m struggling even to be online. My head has been a constant throb with this heat. I do nothing but sleep lately. Not sure what’s wrong with me. I can’t even go out and eat. I went today with my best friend, she treated me and the boys to pizza hut. I came home and have been dead to the world on the couch ever since. My stomach in such knots that I feel nauseous and I feel like my stomach is totally distended. I wish I could figure this shit out. Its’ only with certain foods. :(

My friend did give me a compliment that she noticed I’ve lost [tag]weight[/tag]. I didn’t think anyone would notice but I have … I have officially lost 10 lbs. Just by cutting out the pepsi and drinking only diet Lipton’s green tea. I haven’t changed anything else in my diet so it’s got to be it.

On a happy note … our Fawn [tag]Flemish Giant[/tag] gave birth today. So far I can see 3 baby Fawns in her nest box. I hope with the heat we don’t loose any. I’m going to maybe bring her in. Keep her cool and those babies comfy. The [tag]weather[/tag] is I swear 200% humidity. When is this shit ever going to end.

Anyways, off to sulk on the couch, I can’t stand the pain and sitting her makes me want to throw up more!

Ahhh a little less … heat!

by ~kat on Aug.03, 2007, under family, pets

It’s been so bloody hot here I think my mind melted somewhere between Sunday and Wednesday. I can’t believe how hot it’s been!

My [tag]rabbits[/tag] are not liking it at all, my dogs well we know that situation and the larger ones well they are holding out hiding in the bathroom. I’m still not over [tag]Cassie[/tag], I haven’t slept all week. Every night I go through the same mental routine, asking myself did I do something wrong. I know she was old, I know she wouldn’t live forever. But damn it, I was NOT ready. I miss her terribly and being thoroughly annoyed by the heat doesn’t seem to help matters much.

So finally today I think I can … think! My brain is slowly going from the melting point back to solid mass, some would argue that though!

The passing of a friend …

by ~kat on Jul.30, 2007, under family, pets

Today, is a very sad and lonely day for me.

My beautiful and loving Cassie, our west highland terrior, passed away this afternoon. I feel an extreme great lost!

Born: February 19,1993
Died: July 30, 2007

She lived a very long and healthy life! She brought my family through the suicide of my brother (1995), the passing of my mother (1998), the passing of my grandmother in (1999) then she moved in with me. She gave so many people happy memories. A back to scratch, a long walk, many laughs cause of her great need to be playful 24/7. She was the Queen of my home, even with 3 other full sized dogs in the house, she was and forever will be the queen!

We all need a shoulder to cry on every now and then, she was my shoulder! Loves & kisses Cassie, and many back scratches!

I truly hope you are now with your previous companions!

Tattoed Rabbits

by ~kat on Jul.05, 2007, under pets

Today I went ahead and tattooed the second litter of baby rabbit’s from Unity & Mischief. This is the first time I have ever done this. It was easier than I thought but actually put a tear to my eye. I know it only hurts for a second but still just seems mean to me. But it’s done, thank gosh!

Soon as they calm down a bit I need to update all the pictures on here and on Barnyard Bunnies.

Lately, I’ve been thinking of starting a Wisconsin site specifically for bunnies. I have my barnyardbunnies.info site and I think I may do it. This time though I’m going to map out what I want to do and organize it properly. There seems to be so much info out there about Rabbit Raising but nothing is really organized and not easily found.

I’m thinking … maybe … depends on if I really want to dive into it or what. I don’t want to do it half assed either!

New Baby Rabbits

by ~kat on Apr.21, 2007, under pets

We just had our second liter of baby rabbits by Unity.  We waited awhile because we wanted to get the hutches built and do a bit of studying on Flemish Giants.  She had 9 but she sent one on its merrily way.  Looks as though we ended up with 2 whites and the rest grey.  Recently, we also bought a new fawn Flemish Giant.  His name is Radar.  Hopefully, we can breed him with Tulip our other fawn!  Pictures coming soon!

Additions to our family …

by ~kat on May.26, 2006, under pets

Yesterday, we stopped at a rabbitry outside of Oshkosh WI. Once there, we fell in love with two of the cutiest dang Flemish Giant Rabbits I think I’ve seen so far. One is a grey with blue eyes and the other is a fawn with the softest fur I’ve felt yet. The fawn is Jordan’s baby. He called her *Tulip*. :) We haven’t decided on a name yet for the grey one. It’s hubby’s choice! I’m hoping he calls it *Storm*, his eyes remind me of Storm’s eyes from X-Men. heh! Will post pics sometime later today!
