Power it up!
by ~kat on Oct.27, 2008, under remodeling
It’s about time, we finally got approval for the electric to be installed by the electric company. The electrician (my son’s future FIL) completed the pole over the weekend. I am SO happy!! The electric company called my dad and verified we are on the schedule. We have from now to two weeks until it’s installed. My dad said the guy from the electric said he will do his best to get here fast. Woot! I can’t wait. If we can complete the inside within the next couple of days then by the time baby comes it should be ready for her.
I’m so excited!!
Remodeling the easy way!

My daughter is starting to see the light in being able to move into her new home. I found this link for Wall Decorations and have fallen in love. What a simple and easy way to decorate a room!
Work + Work = Calgon take me away!
by ~kat on Jun.27, 2008, under family, remodeling
Good lord help me! Dad is on a rampage … seriously … a rampage.
Base of the deck is up and rails are needed. By Monday, the deck will be completed so we can call the inspector in to check the electrical pole AND the deck. What a pain in the ass inspectors are! Can’t come twice … no that’s too much to expect.
Right now he’s working on the base of the trailer. He won’t listen on leveling it. Just keeps trucking along infuriating me, but eh that’s father’s for ya! Especially at his age, I am so NOT going to argue. Just walk away and BREATHE!
I am just staying in the front of the trailer away from pops raking and moving rocks. My back is killing me, my arms are like wet willies and my legs well I don’t think I have any left. The mosquitoes are out in full force and spiders ~ ACK ~ are too!
By the time this weekend is done, I’m going to need the ICU for the spider that I just know will bite me, heating pad to sooth my feet, a chiropractor to fix my twisted back and one hell of a strong bloody mary to sooth my anxiety! Sounds like Calgon would just be cheaper!

It’s Painted!

How very cool eh? What a change in presentation in that old sterile looking bathroom. Its a small bathroom and I was very scared of feeling closed in. No way! Definitely took away the sterile feeling! I can’t wait to hang my dad’s old ice fishing poles, reels and lures in there. I also have several antique’s I may figure a way to hang. Dad is looking for an old anchor to hang in there. I’m even thinking this very OLD motor we have out in the garage of cleaning it up and mounting it on the wall for a towel hanger or something. I think it’ll look cool!
Boys Bathroom

My boys are totally into fishing. If a day could start with fishing and end with it, they’d be on cloud 9. So figured when I came across this border wallpaper at Wal-mart, it would be perfect for them.

Tomorrow I’m going to go pickup the Racing Green and Deep Brick paint to match. And the boys and I are going to be doing some bathroom redecorating. Can’t wait to see it finished!
Here I come …

On my way to Green Bay this morning! Joy oh joy!
I hate driving seriously I do. It’s 50 miles from me to Green Bay. It’s one lane to and from. Not a pretty or joyous ride at all! I seriously hate driving there. Dad is up and has a grocery list for Menards to go get.
While I’m down there I will pickup the last bits of Jordan’s birthday presents. It’s his 11th birthday today! Before I even got the chance to say “Happy Birthday” he’s like Mom you didn’t forget what today is? I’m like no Jordan how can I? It was one of the most painful days in history!
He just blank faced looked at me! heh! Mom’s terrible I know!
I will probably stop at Best Buy or Walmart down there. He wants a MP3 player just like Jr got last week. It really is not much fun shopping for those two. If one wants something the other does. So basically everything Jr got last week Jordan is getting this week. Makes shopping easy, just not so much fun. Hopefully when they get a bit older they’ll start separating a bit. They are a year and 7 days apart but you’d swear they were twins.
Off I go!
Memorial Day Weekend
by ~kat on May.21, 2008, under family, remodeling
This weekend my dad is coming to visit! Thankfully it’s a holiday weekend, so he’ll stay some extra days. He’s coming up to help work on Kristyn’s trailer. Hopefully, or should I say FINALLY, the bricks under it will get done. That’s all we are really waiting for are the bricks. Basically he’s building a 3 block high wall all the way around the footing of the trailer so it has better support and insulation for winter.
We have been trying for weeks to get this done, but with noel working and other dramatic events in our lives; we haven’t got much done. Once this is done though, she should be able to move in within 2-3 weeks. We just have to hang drywall and fix some flooring. My son is going to splatter the walls and then paint which should only take a day or two. Nothing fancy … just livable!
I’ve already called the inspector and going to finish the permits tomorrow. Once that’s done there really isn’t much in our way to finishing this. Dad has been a life saver.
Other than that I have to work this weekend, which is no biggy. So I will probably just end up sitting out on the porch enjoying the beautiful 70+ degree weather we are suppose to have. I can’t wait! I may even work on getting my garden planted. That would be awesome. Dad is my pro-gardener so I know he will toss much advice my way.
Make over!

Yeah I redesigned the blog. For some reason the old design lagged big time when I loaded it. Figured if I was having the issue someone else probably was too. And since we’re all in the holiday mood (yeah right!), I’d put something happy and merry! Not bad for a quicky fix. Still tweaking a few things yet. So if you come across something funky let me know please!
