Vacation
by ~kat on Oct.15, 2007, under family, just cause, vacation
I’ve been on vacation since last week. My thoughts were I’d be able to get some rest. That quite hasn’t happened yet. Between the pain in my arms and upper back, it just hasn’t been possible. Plus there are just too many people in this house.
I’ve struggled with Microsoft XP too. I’ve been doing some fall cleaning on the computers that has been desperately needed. But according to Microsoft I’ve installed XP one too many times. So now each time I need to reformat I have to call them to get a new code. Nice eh? Insane if you ask me!
Soon as I get it setup and all the downloads installed I’m installing a program that I can mirror the drive to another drive for backup. This way I can just use it if windows ever crashes on me again. I swear they get you coming and going.
I’ve also started my xmas shopping. What an adventure. With having to shop for 9 people not including my dad, sister, godparents, in laws. The joys of being broke for the rest of the year. I’m keeping it simple though, so hopefully it won’t be too harsh on the pocket book. Plus I’m shopping now instead of the week OF xmas like I normally do.
Anyways, back to the fall cleaning. I still have this huge @ss house to finish. No idea what came over me to want such a big house but someone should have medicated me.
Where did the week go?

Let’s see! Sunday was Noel’s birthday, Wednesday was mine, Kristyn was admitted to hospital on Wednesday, had emergency surgery on Thursday to remove her gallbladder and I’ve had the kids all week. My workload has been rather high this week and meetings seemed to be every minute of every day. It’s been a week to say the least. Now we’ve hit the weekend and it’s busy too. My dad came to visit on Thursday since I was suppose to have vacation this weekend. Yeah such is that eh? lol
Now this morning the guy came for the septic for my daughter’s portion of land. Looks as though, yes she may just move out by the end of year. He’s here and showing my dad the deal and if all goes well he’ll be in installing the septic within a few weeks. YEAH!! He’s paying for it too!! They have to pay him back but eh … they’ll be out! Don’t get me wrong I love my grandchildren and daughter BUT I need some space too.
Tomorrow is the baby’s baptism and back to work on Monday! lol Nice vacation eh?
On Vacation

Since Thursday I’ve been on [tag]vacation[/tag]! It feels so good but haven’t been able to sleep past 7am, not surprising.
Yesterday, we finally got our boat out in the water after like 8 years. At first problems galore, then all seemed fine sure it needed a bit of tuning. That didn’t last long. Shortly before we got back to shore it died again. Fuel hoses went on it. Go figure.
Overall though it’s been real relaxing so far. Sorry I haven’t checked out everyone’s blogs but I had my dad come up for the whole weekend so I’m spending some quality [tag]father[/tag]/[tag]daughter [/tag]time!
On a positive note, hubby and I both caught some huge Small Mouth Bass within seconds of each other. Was totally exciting!
Camping

Yeah! I’m so excited. Yesterday an AA friend of my hubby’s offered us a [tag]popup camper[/tag] for $250. I thought $250??? I’ve been looking for two years for one and they’ve wanted nothing less than $1500. So I thought “ok, what piece of shit is this going to be?”. lol boy was I wrong. He’s just a nice guy getting rid of something he doesn’t use and doesn’t want to screw anyone. Its an older one but hey, he restored the entire inside of it. Very nice work too! The canvas’ are like new too which is amazing. That was my first worry about buying it that when he popped it open the canvas’ would need replacing and that can cost an arm and a leg. And actually they were like brand new. Need to fix only two things the vent in the roof that ONE screw is leaking from when it rains. And one 4 inch board that is the closure for the front where everything hides in while transporting. Other than that the entire camper is in prime condition. I’m so excited.
So now July 20th through 24th we are going [tag]camping[/tag]. We’re going to go to where I grew up most weekends in [tag]Wisconsin Dells[/tag]. I”ve said before we were thinking of going to Kalahari Water Park but now I think we’re going to stay at a camp ground with a water park save a few $$$ and be able to experience more of the dells!
Now to start collecting everything we need. Basically, just linens, dishes, cooking utensils. It’s already got the sink, stove, built in coolers and fridge in it. So it’s just the necessities I need to come up with. Since we got rid of my dad’s 38 foot camper all the stuff in there came to me. So it’s just packing it all nicely in the popup and away we go! Woot! Vacation … freedom … no computer (withdrawls!) lol
