Cellular’ly frustrated!
by ~kat on Dec.04, 2008, under technology
Yes I made my own word to explain my frustration.
My cellular company is also my broadband internet provider. I’m frustrated because I have had this service since August. Absolutely NO complaints other than the local office is compiled of a bunch of idgits. Seriously, pack of morons, retards, freaks … there is no true word to explain it.
They have one girl that hands out cellular phone numbers to other “friends” yet claims my daughter, whose not employed there, is the fault for this. Eh ok she has magical powers I don’t know about apparently!
Then we have the other “new” girl. “new” is not an excuse to write inappropriate facebook emails threatening my daughter about the above “release” of phone numbers to other individuals.
Then we have the “guy” who can’t talk above a mousy whisper, to not returning phone calls, to telling us there is nothing wrong with my daughters phone. Yet, when you set the phone on the table and stare at it like “I dream of jeannie” blink twice the phone turns off. Piece of shit? Yup pretty much agree with that assumption!
So back to my broadband dilemma. I got my broadband internet router from cellcom in August. No problems not one. Then two nights ago I go to bed like a good girl on vacation. Wake up to find internet on … internet off … internet on … internet off. Ah uhm … we have problems!
I call DePere because dealing with Sturgeon Bay would clearly cause a migraine. DePere has me take router in for a software upgrade which is suppose to take a matter of minutes. Ok no problem, take router in to get a call 45 minutes later. “Oh sorry we can’t upgrade the software till after lunch sometime tomorrow when “the guy” is in”. What part of this does a normal individual see a problem with? The fact they only have 1 rep that can upgrade the software or the fact that they only have 1 rep that can upgrade the software. Yes, ok so I call DePere to bitch, cause seriously I work online and need internet access 100% not 5% on and 95% off. DePere raises hell with local store so the following morning I go in get a “new router” and a $25 credit to only have the SAME freaking problem.
It’s now almost 72 hours since this issue started. I’m close to going postal!
Apparently because up till two nights ago we had no snow. Now we have tons of snow so the signals are bouncing off the snow & trees. I’m really frustrated by this because it’s most likely going to cost me another $100 just for a external antenna which I didn’t need 2 days ago. If that doesn’t fix it nobody has a clue.
If that’s the case I might as well go work at the gas station make $8 an hour because being able to work online will go to hell in a hand basket fast. I really really hate country life.
I also submitted my resume to this same company because seriously they need to do something about this local office. They need to clean house!
Cellcom Broadband Wireless Internet

I gave in and spent the $100 to setup my new internet. Woot go me! I have been with WildBlue for the last two years. It’s never been a stable setup and the latency is unbelievably slow. Never thought my $84.35 per month was worth it.
I live in Door County which is the thumb of Wisconsin. Which means 75% of the county is surrounded by water. Big companies like comcast, verizon, and AT&T do not offer residential broadband because the distance from home to home is so far in 90% of the cases.
So our local cellular company who I’ve never really been thrilled with but recently upgraded some towers which made connectivity much better, has setup a new broadband cellular residential service. Monthly cost $49.95. How could I resist the offer? I literally ran, speed my way to the local office and setup my service.
I’m connected after about 5 minutes of frustration … more my fault than anything. Might help if I read the book of directions thoroughly before attempting to set it up. Now I’m connected and I’ve tested it on Vonage’s VOIP speed test. It passed all the tests to qualify for VOIP which WildBlue never not once did. I’m officially …. hooked.
So for anyone researching the net about CELLCOM BROADBAND WIRELESS INTERNET. Carlsville resident … that’s me … says it ROCKS!!!
